Jones’ attorney Henry DePippo has revealed that the champion has returned her medals.

“She’s not going to comment on the matter while it’s pending in court but the medals were returned today,” the People quoted DePippo, as saying.

Jones agreed that she took a steroid known as “the clear” before, during and after the Sydney games in the federal court on Oct 05, 2007.

The track star also pleaded guilty to two counts of obstruction of justice.

“I want you to know that I have been dishonest and you have the right to be angry with me. I have let (my family) down, I have let my country down and I have let myself down,” Jones said.

The athlete agreed that she was on steroids after years of consistent denials.

A source close to Jones has revealed that the track champion was extremely concerned about what will happen to the medals given to the other members of those relay teams.

“She deeply regrets any impact this may have on her former team-mates and offers her sincere heartfelt apology to all of them,” the source said. (ANI)
