PETA - Ink Not Mink New York, Jan 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) R & B sensation Mario has joined the PETA’s campaign of ‘Ink, Not Mink’. He posed in the campaign poster with the tag line “Be comfortable in your own skin.” Mario already has numerous interesting tattoos all over his body. He encourages his fans to “[be] comfortable in your own skin, and let animals keep theirs.”

“Every piece of fur that you see out there and people wearing, there’s an animal [who's] lost his or her life,” the Grammy Award-nominated singer told reporters.

He is the latest celebrity star to join this particular campaign by PETA. In October, Mario’s “Break Up” notched its 11th week at No. 2. And it features Sean Garrett and Gucci Mane, it’s the lead single from Mario’s fourth album, “D.N.A.” which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The J Records/RCA Music Group set was released October 13, reports the UPI.

“Break Up” also gave Mario his fourth top-five R&B hit. His earlier hits were “Just a Friend,” which reached No. 4 in 2002, and the Ne-Yo-penned “Let Me Love You” and “Crying Out for Me,” which peaked at No. 5 in 2008. In his PETA campaign Mario also addresses and speaks about other issues like dog fighting and cruelty to animals too.

Earlier PETA had announced Tim Gunn as the PETA Man of the Year. “Wearing fur is like wearing a big sign reading, ‘I’m in favor of inflicting cruelty and pain on animals as a fashion statement.’ Unspeakable torture is inflicted on dogs, cats, bunnies, raccoons, foxes, minks, and myriad trapped, helpless creatures in the name of fashion - yes, dogs and cats,” Gunn said.
