Marilyn Monroe’s Unseen Photos Go On Sale

marNew York, Feb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the fans of iconic Hollywood siren Marilyn Monroe are in for a treat as few never-before-seen shots of the actress were disclosed on Friday. The pictures which feature the legendary screen diva relaxing in a New York apartment were taken by photographer Len Steckler almost 45 years ago. The photographer has offered the unseen pictures for sale as a limited edition series that has been titled “Marilyn Monroe: The Visit.”

The black and white images of the actress which went on for sale consists of four single pictures and two triptychs, which are photos in three parts and each would have 250 prints available for sale. The photos which were shot in the month of December in 1961, just about nine months before the screen legend’s untimely demise. It has been revealed that the photos were taken when the actress arrived at Len Steckler’s apartment to meet their mutual friend poet Carl Sandburg. The previously unreleased photos showcases the Hollywood actress looking absolutely ravishing while she adorns a short sleeve dress and wears pointed, thick-rimmed sunglasses. The actress passed away just nine months later in August, 1962.

While talking about the previously unpublished pictures, Len Steckler has added that it was sheer serendipity that the icons could be captured on camera at that moment. Reportedly, negatives of the pictures were discovered by Len Steckler’s son who then decided to release the pictures for the new generation. So, if you are among the hardcore Marilyn Monroe fan, then the pictures can be all yours just by shelling out something around $1,999 to $3,999.
