- Washington, Nov 3 (ANI): Mariah Carey has revealed that she bagged her critically acclaimed role of a social worker in the 2009 American drama ‘Precious’ after legendary actress Helen Mirren had pulled out of the project.
The 39-year-old Carey, who played Mrs. Weiss in the flick, had won over the critics with her performance.
“Someone told me Helen Mirren had been offered the role of the social worker, but had to pull out. So it was daunting to try and fill the shoes of this great Academy Award-winning actress,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
“But then I decided to snap myself out of that mindset and figure out what I could bring to the role,” she addesd. (ANI)
