Mariah Carey might judge the US version of the show ‘X- Factor’
October 25th, 2010 - 11:26 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Oct 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There are reports that Mariah Carey is all set to judge the US version of the show X-factor next year. Even though Simon Cowell wanted British pop star Cheryl Cole as a judge on the show, yet the channel was worried that since Cheryl Cole isn’t that popular in the US, so she is not a good choice to be a judge on the show.
So the channel – Fox pushed ahead with their own choice and that was the pop diva Mariah Carey. Later Simon revealed to News of the World that even though his original choice for the position was Cheryl Cole, yet he would love to have Mariah Carey on his show. He said that, “Look, I’ve said I’d love Cheryl out there but whether it will happen, who knows? Mariah Carey would be an amazing addition to the US show. And she’s exactly the right caliber of star that we want for the show.”
It is yet to be confirmed if Mariah Carey is interested in the position or not and if she would agree to the offer. However in case she agrees to the contract then she is all set to join Simon Cowell and Pussycat Doll star Nicole Scherzinger as a judge.
