London, July 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s family is angry about a new movie based on her life. The film depicted the former Prime Minister as suffering from dementia and depression.

According to reports in the Telegraph, “Iron Lady” shows Thatcher as an old woman suffering from dementia and has regrets about her career.

She is seen talking to herself and didn’t even know about the death of her husband - Sir Denis Thatcher. Meryl Streep is being featured as the former prime minister and even though many fans of Thatcher are happy about the movie, her children are said to be disgusted with the movie.

According to the Telegraph, a friend of the family said that, “Sir Mark and Carol are appalled at what they have learnt about the film. They think it sounds like some Left-wing fantasy. They feel strongly about it, but will not speak publicly for fear of giving it more publicity.”

The managing director of the film’s production company Pathe, Cameron McCracken said the movie was about “power” and the price to pay for it. He said the movie looked at both the strengths and weaknesses of the Margaret Thatcher. He also said the movie showed how people tried to find balance in both their private and public lives.

He also said even though the health of Margaret Thatcher will be shown in the movie, it will be treated with the “appropriate sensitivity”
