Marc Dreier Speaks On Himself And Bernie Madoff On “60 Minutes”

Marc DreierJune 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Marc Dreier appeared in “60 Minutes” for a television interview, the only one that he attended ever since the Ponzi scheme blew its cover with the arrest of his partner in the scheme, Bernard Madoff.

In the interview, he went on to speak about the scheme. The interview, which had taken place in fall last year, was only recently aired on CBS, on June 5, 2010.

However, Bernie Madoff had not been available for the interview, a few days before which he had been arrested. Right in the beginning of the interview, Marc Dreier went on to say that this was just not the way how he had wanted to appear on the show, like a criminal being interviewed.

Marc Dreier went on to say that he had fallen into the trap laid by his ambition, saying that he needed to feed his ambition, by fair means or foul.

He did not blame any one else for what he turned into from being a successful businessman and an art collector, but confessed that his decision to step into the world of crime was absolutely deliberate.

He also confessed that he had not hesitated to approach hedge funds with get rich quick schemes that he hoped would help him save his law firm, and thus realize the dreams that he had nurtured of becoming a billionaire.

In order to get the money, Marc Dreier impersonated the lawyer of a famous billionaire, and naturally got then money with no problem at all.

He carried on his scheme by fabricating accounts of the company he was supposed to be representing, until the cover blew.
