Man of Many Voices Danny Gans falls silent

May 3rd, 2009 - 3:14 am ICT by GD Tell a Friend -

Danny Gans, the renowned entertainer from the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, died at the age of fifty two. He is survived by his wife Julie and his family. Danny’s name is misspelled by many as Danny Ganz. He was known as the “Man of Many Voices”. Alas! The voice is silent now.

Gans passed away while in sleep. It was early in the morning when the incident happened. Gans was a superstar on the Las Vegas Strip, though may not be a very well-known personality outside Las Vegas. For eleven consecutive years Gans had been Entertainer of the Year for his headlining act on the world famous Las Vegas Strip. He described himself as a “musical impressionist”. The world’s largest freestanding marquee remains a witness to Danny’s great stature. Danny’s act had also been awarded the Show of the Year.

Gans shifted to Encore (owned by Steve Wynn) from Mirage in last February. His Mirage show was a regular sold-out. Wynn observed that Gans’ death was tragic, and said that he was devastated at the news of Gans’ death: “Elaine and I and all of us in the company are devastated at the loss of our brilliant, talented and loving friend. One of the most unique human beings and entertainers in the world has been taken from us in an unexpected moment.” There is no doubt at all that Danny Gans’ death is not only a very very tragic loss for his wife Julie and his family, but for the whole world of entertainment. Danny was an incredible and unique entertainer and will always be remembered as such.
