Mammootty Plans Sequel To August 1
July 17th, 2010 - 8:48 pm ICT by Sampurn WireJuly 17, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Megastar Mammootty is in the mood of making sequel to one his old movies titled August 1, which was released on July 21, 1988.
Mammootty has also been affected by this season of sequels. The star played the role of Perumal, a brainy investigative officer in the original movie, which was a huge hit.
The original movie was written by and was directed by Sibi Malayil. Apart from Mammootty, the movie also starred Captain Raju, Prathapachandran, Innocent, Jagadish, Janardanan, Lizy, Mammukoya, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, Jagathi Sreekumar, Sreenath, Sukumaran, K.P.A.C. Sunny, Kollam Thulasi, Urvashi and Vijayan.
Director Sibi Malayil tried a different style to make this movie unlike his regular sentimental movies. Sibi Malayil will not probably direct the sequel to August 1. A new young director may be roped in for the sequel.
The movie is likely to go on the floors by the beginning of next year.
