Mahayatra Finalist Akansha Finds Solace In Colors Show

Devotion does pay, especially, if it’s televised that too, on national television.

June 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):20-year-old Akansha Joneja from Delhi undertook a soulful journey on Star Plus’s unheralded reality show “Mahayatra – Rishton Ka Anokha Safar’. Akansha found peace but not the desired result as she finished as runner-up to Vishal Kunder.

She may not have won the show but “Mahayatra’ made Akansha get noticed by the TV producers. The pretty Delhi girl is all set to make her acting debut with the Colors show “Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai’.

So has the “Mahayatra’ been successful?

“No, I won’t say that because the show wasn’t as well received by the viewers than one would have liked. However, “Thoda Hai..’ is a result of all the blessings that I received during “Mahayatra’. I wasn’t so simple as it seems. I had go through the regular procedure of auditions. Besides, I’d signed for the show in March, but it’s finally on air now,” said Juneja.

Akansha’s journey of trial began years ago as a child when she started tutoring kids whilst she was in class 3. This continued for four more years but Akansha didn’t flounder in her own studies. Later, she taught dance and gave it up after bagging a call centre job post class 10. She didn’t like the work environment and gave up the job. Then our girl taught drawing to mentally challenged kids before working on an event Management Company and followed this up with a job in One Act Films.

Hasn’t she done too much for her little age?

“Well, you have to go through this to come on top in life. My father fell ill, so I had to shoulder the responsibility from an early age. My mother, who is a teacher, played a crucial role in shaping my life. I have to look after my two young sisters too. It’s never been a burden to balance professional and academic life for me. Once you have the will to conquer, you will go to any lengths to achieve it,” averred Akansha who plays Akshata in “Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai’.

She’s bagged her maiden show but Akansha has her future goals set right.

“An actor’s shelf life is limited to few years only. That’s why it’s imperative that you complete your basic graduation. I’m doing Mass Communications. When I’m 35, I hope to own a production house. I’m confident of meeting success,” she sighed.

Looking at her desires, this girl certain doesn’t believe in “Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai’ philosophy. We wish the young girl all the very best in her career.
