Los Angeles, Oct 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Madonna has reportedly been tasked to sing at the Super Bowl. SB Nation reports that the veteran pop singer will perform to the fans at the halftime of the game during the Super Bowl XLVI. This season’s Super Bowl will come off at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on the 5th of February 2012.

This is not the first time that Madonna has been linked to the Super Bowl. In 1998, the singer missed the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami when the two parties reportedly failed to reach a deal. At the Super Bowl XXXV, Madonna was again widely rumored to be in talks to sing at the halftime. With the game coming up, the pop icon reportedly turned the offer down.

There has been no official confirmation on the report. Though Madonna has not performed at the Super Bowl, she performed the song that SunSilk used for the commercial during the Super Bowl in 2008. That deal, according to reports, fetched the singer $10 million.

Several stars have performed at the Super Bowl in the past. The stage is one of the biggest and stars like the Black Eye Peas, Slash, Usher, Janet Jackson, The Rolling Stones and Justin Timberlake have all sung at the Super Bowl.
