Madge denies duping GucciJanuary 13th, 2008 - 3:03 pm ICT by admin
Washington, Jan 13 (ANI): Pop superstar Madonna has jumped to the defence of her charity after reports surfaced that she had duped the likes of Gucci into giving money to Kabbalah under the pretext of supporting Malawian children.
The Material Girl singer has called the accusations that her charity, Madonnas Raising Malawi organization gives money to an L.A Kabbalah center outrageous, incorrect, inaccurate, hurtful and malicious.
Gucci is set to finance a lavish Feb. 6 fundraiser for the charity - with A-listers like Sarah Jessica Parker and Salma Hayek set to attend.
But speculation had been mounting that proceeds from the event would actually benefit the religious organisation, rather than the orphans the charity had pledged to help.
However, Liz Rosenberg, Madges rep has dismissed the rumours.
The reality is - and it’s never been a secret - that the Raising Malawi organisation was co-founded by Madonna and Michael Berg, who is one of the spearheading executives of the Kabbalah organization, Contactmusic quoted Rosenberg, as saying.
The Raising Malawi organisation is completely separate from the Kabbalah, and they are run as two separate organizations.
“Accountability will be very clear and very specific, and all funds will be accounted for, she added. (ANI)
