Nov. 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The finale for the third season of “Mad Men” was just as humorous and action filled as the rest of the shows. The show offered full on drama for every viewer, be it the ones who are sold on comedy or family melodrama. “Mad Men is based on the personal and professional struggles of the employees working in an advertising agency. The backdrop is New York of the 1960s. In it’s season finale, the characters of the show wrap up the story, tying up all the loose threads.
The third season of “Mad Men” has mostly been about the sobering down of Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm. Through the episodes, viewers watch him as he loses one precious thing after another, on the threshold of losing all hope. His character is made all the more endearing by the fact that he never seems to give up- no matter what life has on offer. He is often depressed but never hopeless. In the finale, all the other characters come to a definite conclusion about whatever problems that have been plaguing them throughout the season.
The show ends with the promise of a plot that would incorporate most of the characters from it’s original season. A lot of the characters would be returning with the new office that the “Mad Men” open. The best part of the finale was that the show was not slow, as the plot went heavy on action. The break up of Betty and Don seemed even more pathetic with the children’s innocent inquiry about them being there for Christmas.
