‘Mad Men’ best drama, ‘Modern Family’ best comedy at Emmys
September 19th, 2011 - 11:09 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Sep 19 (IANS) American television series “Mad Men” won best drama while “Modern Family” bagged the trophy for best comedy series at the The 63rd annual Emmy awards.
Set in an ad agency in New York, “Mad Men” revolves around the most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, while “Modern Family” is a funny take on dysfunctional families.
British period drama “Downton Abbey” won the Emmy for the best mini-series at the gala event Sunday.
Kyle Chandler won Emmy for the best actor in a drama series for his work in “Friday Night Lights”, a series that talks about problems faced by Texas football players and their loved ones, while Julianna Margulies bagged best actress in a drama series for her work in “The Good Wife”.
