Sep 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Dany Trejo starer ‘Machete’ might look like the typical B-Grade Hollywood flick in the trailers but the film promises to be the ultimate weekend no-brainer. Written by Robert and Alvaro Rodriguez, the film is a throwback to the B-Grade films of the yesteryears. As evident from the trailer, director Ethan Maniquis tried to combine modern film making techniques to the scratchy style of the amateur directors of B-Grade flicks to deliver an action and sleaze packed adventure for the audience.

The plot follows an assassin named Machete, played by Dany Trejo. He is seen hired by a local businessman in Texas to kill the senator. The businessman explains that the senator has been responsible for sending hundreds of illegal immigrants out of the country. As the highly skilled ‘Machete’ gets ready to shoot down the senator, he is shot by one of the snipers of the businessman himself. He manages to survive the shot and realizes that he was set up by the senator and the businessman to gather support for the senators harsh anti-immigrant laws. Machete recovers and vows to take revenge against those who double crosses him.

Thrown into the mix are some of the biggest names in Hollywood that includes legendary actor Robert DeNiro, who plays the role of Senator McLaughlin. Also seen is the gorgeous Jessica Alba who develops a love interest in Machete. Lindsay Lohan plays the role of the senator’s daughter who has a strong affinity towards guns. Assisting Machete is Michelle Rodriguez who plays the role of She. The film promises all the extremes in terms of violence and sleaze and would be the right choice for all those who are looking for some old fashioned on screen action.
