London, June 27 (ANI): Sir Paul McCartney, Beyonce Knowles, Usher, Justin Timberlake and Leona Lewis have been approached to perform at a concert in the honour of late Michael Jackson, according to reports.
AEG, promoters for the King of Pop’s slated comeback tour in London, were said to be working on a benefit show to give fans a chance to see renowned artists turning out in memory of the singer.
Diana Ross and Jackson’s nephews 3T were also said to have been in early talks for the concert, reports The Sun.
The organisers were allegedly on the look out to find replacements to fill the 20,000-capacity O2 arena previously booked for Jackson’s 50-show run.
The first 750,000 tickets for the shows flew off the shelves when they went on sale in March.
The Thriller hitmaker was due to begin his much awaited This Is It tour on July 13.
The 50-year-old icon died on Thursday. He was reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest but medics are yet to determine the cause of his death. (ANI)
