October 26th, 2010 - 7:46 pm ICT by Sampurn Wire
October 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This Friday the audience will have an array of films to choose from, ranging from homosexuality, spirituality, and a romantic thriller. There will be Shirdi Sai Baba, two gay lovers and a love story of two people who are poles apart.
There will Maalik Ek, a film that might just work for Jackie Shroff as it is bringing him back to the silver screen as a protagonist. He will play the role of Shirdi Sai Baba, the role will see the 50-year-old actor in a totally different avatar. Maalik Ek is directed by Deepak Balraj Vij, and will also have powerhouse performers like Divya Dutta, Rohini Hattangadi and Manoj Kumar.
Another film, which might not garner much of an audience, is Nakshatra. A romantic thriller and it will see Milind Soman in a Hindi film almost after two years. It is mainly going to deal with the different shades of love and the bond that is shared by two people who have no similarity in their lives apart from love. The film also unravels the complex nature of life as a dreamer’s dreams go haywire in life.
Among these three films Donno Y… Na Jaane Kyun is likely to draw more audience because of its subject. The debutant director Sanjay Sharma has already showcased this film in various film festivals, but in the Indian front the film has garnered talks because of its bold homosexual scenes. The film did undergo the scissors of the censor board without much of a surprise. This film has got two veteran actresses, Helen and Zeenat Aman, with the lead actors as Yuvraj Parashar and Kapil Sharma. It also stars Rituporna Sengupta, Tara Sharma and Kabir Bedi.
It will be an interesting plate for the film-goers, none of these films boast of huge star cast or lavish sets and they are comparatively low-budget films. What will it be homosexual love over spirituality and the traditional love or the result will be different, let’s wait till Friday, Oct’ 29 for people verdict.
