Lyle Lovett at The Tonight Show
May 26th, 2009 - 10:00 pm ICT by GD ( 1 comment )With a heavy heart we will all have to bid good bye to Jay Leno’s show “The Tonight Show.” This show has been one of the most watched and most popular with the general audience. The last day of the show will be Friday, 29th of May 2009 and Leno will have Conan O’Brian as his last guest. Leno spent the Monday night’s show with his favorite stars Mel Gibson and Lyle Lovett.
The most probable reason for the shows conclusion is Jay Leno’s ill health. Just a few days ago the showbiz world had come to a stand still with the news of Jay Leno’s hospitalization. Though things are now under control yet we will have to bid adieu to the show, which had become a habit with many. Leno is supposed to have revealed to the media that he has “something really unusual and different planned, something really out of left field” with which they planned to end the show. Leno continued, “It’s something really personal … and I think it’ll make people smile.”
The versatile American country singer, song writer and actor, Lyle Pearce Lovett was present on Monday’s show along with Mel Gibson. Lovett’s fans will know that he has already made his mark as a greatly talented singer with the 13 albums that he has recorded since 1980s. He has also released a number of singles which have gone on to become huge hits on the music charts. Most of his fans remember him for his number, “Cowboy Man,” which was the #10 chart hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Lovett had also won four Grammy Awards.

The Tonight Show is not ending. Conan O’Brien (note: with an “e” not an “a”) is taking over as host starting June 1st. Leno’s last show is the 29th, Conan’s first show the 1st.
That’s why Jay is leaving - it was a deal made 5 years ago where Leno would leave and Conan would take over. It has nothing at all to do with his health.
Leno will then host a talk show 5 nights a week on NBC at 10pm.
All of this is on google and has been known for the past 5 years.
