Pasadena, Jan 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lucy Lawless sweated in out to become an action hero in ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’. And now she is all set to return to that genre which got her critical acclaim, “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.” It is the new Starz series, and it premieres at 10 pm on Friday. And she would be battling it out in the show, which uses a lot of hard work, and sweat of course. However the swords are somewhat missing. The gorgeous actress is all set to play the role of Lucretia. Along with her husband Batiatus, she co-owns the gladiator camp that gives birth to Spartacus.

Since she is not much into action, so she even thought about passing the role for other projects that involve less of the action component. But it was not to be. “But the role is just a knockout. I’m so grateful to them for writing such brilliant women’s relationships. A lot of intrigue. It’s terribly deadly and very subtle,” Lawless says. “I felt like I still want to adventure on in life. But the universe always knows what’s good for you, you know.”

She says that her role in Spartacus is very interesting, as it draws inspiration from the manipulative and the scheming Lady Macbeth. And this series is also very high on sex, nudity and violence. This rattled Lucy a bit, but later she understood that it was a critical component of the story line itself.
