louSan Francisco, Nov. 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Media outlets were shocked by a news that came from one of the godfathers of their own world. Lou Dobbs, the advocacy anchor of the CNN, announced on Wednesday on his regular broadcast at 7p.m. that he is about to leave the channel. He said that it was going to be his last broadcast on the channel. Lou has been with the channel ever since it was founded. He was the last surviving member of the network’s original cast. He said that he is proud to have played a part in building up the first and one of the most influential and biggest of media networks in the world.

Dobbs said that his decision of leaving the network was based in the light of the various issues that surface every day. He said that in those rapidly changing times, he felt that he should be taking up a more active role in the issues that are taking place around us, a decision that was hugely backed by many prominent leaders from the arena of politics, business and the media. He said that he wants to address those issues in the straightforward way he has always adopted. There are speculations that his decision might have been influenced by the fact that he had recently been under fire for stating that Obama is not an American, but he did not mention anything like it.

President of CNN, Jonathan Klein said that he supports Dobb’s decision. He said that Dobb’s keen comprehension of the complex issues and his perseverance would be greatly missed. He insisted that Dobb had been a valued member of the network and wished him all the best.
