Lori Petty arrested for drunken driving

Lori Petty seems to have reached another breaking point in her life. Just freshly out of her guest spot from, “Prison Break,” the 45 year old actress, best known for her roles in “Point Break” and “A League of Their Own,” was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, on Saturday night.

Lori Petty was taken into custody in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles after allegedly hitting a man, who was riding a skateboard, with her car. Fortunately no major injuries were suffered by either party, the unidentified skateboarder left after being treated for minor injuries at the scene. Later the actress was booked on a felony DUI charge. After spending nearly five hours in custody, she was finally released on $100,000 bail from Van Nuys jail at 6:48 in the morning.

Lori Petty, the eldest of the three siblings, was born on 14th October in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She completed her graduation in 1981 from North High School located at Sioux City, Iowa. After completing her graduation she worked for many years as a graphics designer before taking the decision of pursuing acting as her full time career.

Her first big break came in the year 1991 with the action thriller, “Point Break,” where she starred opposite Keanu Reeves as his surfer girlfriend. In the following year she appeared in the box-office hit, “A League of Their Own,” a film that starred Tom Hanks, Geena Davies and Madonna along with her. However, it was with the 1995 movie, “Tank Girl,” where she played the title role, that she achieved original fame and “cult icon” status.
