Jan 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Live To Dance” kick started with its season 1 yesterday on CBS. It is a dance based reality show and therefore, it cannot be sans of the appraisal and criticism of the judges. The three judges of the first season are Paula Abdul, Travis Payne and Kimberly Wyatt. Many sources say that apart from the dancing skills of the contestants, the show is all more attractive sole because of the grace and style of Paula Abdul, who is not only the judge but also the chief executive producer of the show.

However, one cannot deny that Paula Abdul, in the first episode could not unleash much of her judgment skills and limited her comments only to cliched inspirational and motivational aspects, even though she is regarded as one of the top most dancers, choreographers, pop singer, songwriter and a well known television personality. Nevertheless, to judge the technical aspects of the performances, there were two other judges. Travis Payne has earned a fame in the industry, as a choreographer of none other than the king of pop, Michael Jackson, while Kimberly Wyatt was one of the creators of the Pussycat Dolls. Travis Payne was even part of Michael Jackson’s last uncompleted project. He has also choreographed with several other well known figures like Janet Jackson, En Vogue and Salt-N-Pepa. On the other hand, Kimberly Wyatt is also an experienced judge, as she gave some tremendously good verdict in the British dance reality show, “Got to Dance”.

The show demanded the contestants to earn atleast two of the three gold stars from the judges, in order to get enlisted in the Expert Short List. All the three judges demanded perfection, boldness and excellence, to make the participants sustain their rank and thereby survive in the show. If all three element came together, then it was ofcourse a cherry on the icing.
