Some of the victims get paralyzed totally before they die. The protagonist in the show was given a few years time and the doctors told him the cold truth. However, in his case the progression of the ailment has been rather slower.
The name of the show Live For The moment is self explanatory and it gave the protagonist the chance to enjoy his days without bothering about the future. He was seen doing stuffs that people afflicted with severe ailment cannot even think of doing. He told the viewers of the show that after being diagnosed with the ailment he realized that there was no use lamenting over fate. Instead he wanted to live life to the hilt. The show gave him that opportunity.
The producer of this show as well as Roger Childs wants the program to inspire people afflicted with serious ailments to rise above the obstacles in life. With determination and will power people can overcome almost any limitation and this is the message the show wants to deliver to the viewers.
