Little Feat Drummer Richie Hayward Passes Away

Richie HaywardAug 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Musician Richie Hayward who is best known as the founding member and drummer of the popular American rock band ‘Little Feat’ passed away on Thursday. It has been reported that the highly acclaimed musical artist ultimately lost his battle to cancer after he was diagnosed with liver cancer about a year ago. Richie Hayward was 64 years of age at the time of his unfortunate death.

The news of Richie Hayward’s demise has saddened his large number of fans who are still coming to terms with the fact that their much-loved ‘Little Feat’ drummer is no more. Since the news of the celebrated musician’s death has spread, condolences have been pouring in from various quarters as his followers as well as people from the music industry are remembering him for his contribution to the success that his band ‘Little Feat’ enjoyed over the years. Apart from his association with the rock band, Richie Hayward is known to have undertaken small roles on television which also included an episode for the satirical American sitcom “F Troop.”

In the month of August last year, Richie Hayward had shocked all his fans by announcing that he was suffering from lung cancer and would not be able to work for the band on a regular basis. With the aim of raising money for his treatment, a benefit concert was subsequently organized and an online portal was also created where fans could make donations. The musician, who did not have a heath insurance, expressed through the website his desire to make a comeback as soon as his health would permit. However, fate had other plans for him.
