Little Britain ‘axed’ after six years
July 25th, 2009 - 12:41 pm ICT by ANILondon, July 25 (ANI): English comedians David Walliams and Matt Lucas have decided to end their famous show Little Britain after six years, because they don’t want fans to get “sick” of them.
“If the show comes back year in year out, it’s just probably not special any more,” the Sun quoted David as saying.
He said: “The BBC and HBO both asked us to do more shows but we feel it’s time to do something else before people get sick of you. Sometimes you give people what they want too much and they end up sort of not liking it any more.”
The comic partners, who are currently preparing to go to Las Vegas for the film version of the show, apparently want to try doing something new.
David added: “It’s important we change the record and do something else creatively.”
He suggested that they would be back with another show in the future but declined to disclose much about it.
He explained: “It’s like a cross between a sketch show and a sitcom. We play lots of different characters.
“I don’t want to give too much away because we’re a year away from it being on TV. We want to bring Little Britain back as specials.” (ANI)
