September 4, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Canadian actress Lisa Ray, who has been a known face in Bollywood, is doing her best to fight against cancer. The actress herself has survived from cancer a year back and is enjoying her rebirth.

On Wednesday, the actress attended the launch event of a new cancer treatment centre in Mumbai. She was there to cheer her fans and to create awareness about cancer. The 38 year old actress, who was first seen in the Bollywood movie “Kasoor’ in 2001, is doing her bit to clean the world of the dangerous disease. Lisa suffered with an incurable cancer of white blood cells “multiple myeloma’ so she knows the pain of the sufferers.

The actress shocked her fans when the news of her suffering from cancer became public. She has made her presence felt in the glamour world by walking the ramp and acting in the films. Now, the actress is sharing her association with the disease cancer, which changed her whole life. She said that curing cancer is not just of body but the healing of mind. During that phase of life, she has undergone the pain of fear and isolation. She said in such cases attitude plays an important role to handle the deadly illness and the depression.

The actress was seen giving excellent performance in Deepa Mehta’s 2005 film “Water’. She was seen playing a young widow, who falls in love with a rich man, played by John Abraham.
