Aug 11(IBNS) Lionsgate has bought Josh Friedlander original comedy screenplay One Night Stan.

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who directed Harold & Kumar, are all set to direct the movie; it was reported by Hollywood Reporter

Principato Young Entertainment’s Peter Principato, Paul Young and Matt Berenson of are producing the project with Mike Karz of Karz Entertainment. Josie Rosen of Karz brought the script to Lionsgate and will be the executive producer.

Principato Young, which was the executive producer for Comedy Central’s “Reno 911!” is also producing “Beth” and has “For Richer or Poorer” in development at Warners. Bot at Fox and The Bender at New Line are their other projects in the pipeline.

The story revolves around the character Stan, who plays out a scenario about which many men fantasize on the cusp of marriage. However, when Stan learns that his fiancée, Julie, had more sexual partners than him, he gets her blessing for one night to play catch-up. But unfortunately, his plans for a sex buffet goes haywire and astray.

Lionsgate have stayed away from comedy for a long time and they hardly stray into the his genre because they have hardly done well. But they have done well when they had big names like Tyler Perry’s name in the title.
