Los Angeles, Sept 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lion King is going back to the theaters 17 years after the movie became one of the highest earning movies of all time. The franchise is one of the most successful Walt Disney projects.

The animation is being released in 3D format. In 2009, Disney enjoyed great success when they released two Toy Story movies in 3D formats. The movie is among several others which will be released to the theaters this weekend. “Drive” is among the movies that have received positive reviews from critics.

The remake of the movie “Straw Dogs,” will be released this weekend as well. Viewers should brace up for more violence in the movie because the producers say though the original movie was criticized for being too violent, the remake raises the bar. The controversial rape scene in the original movie has also been reportedly maintained.

“I Don’t Know How She Does It,” will also be released over the weekend. The book is based on the adaptation of Allison Pearson’s bestselling novel. The movie is directed by Douglas McGrath. Critics gave the movie poor review and it is not expected to be among the top performers of the weekend.
