Lindsays nude Marilyn Monroe inspired snaps an Internet hitFebruary 23rd, 2008 - 2:06 pm ICT by admin
New York, Feb 23 (ANI): Lindsay Lohans raunchy nude photographs recreating a famous series of Marilyn Monroe taken shortly before she died in 1962 have become a huge hit on the Web.
New York magazine, which commissioned the photographs, is now threatening cease and desist orders on big name Web sites including major newspapers who are using the images without permission.
Meanwhile, the magazine’s own Web traffic soared by 2,000 percent.
“When you put up beautiful photos of a celebrity like this, you expect this kind of reaction. But we try to be vigilant to protect our content, the New York Daily News quoted a spokesperson for New York Magazine, as saying.
The Mean Girls star posed for Bert Stern, the same photographer who pictured Monroe 46 years ago in what became known as “The Last Sitting”, because six weeks later she died of a drugs overdose.
Monroes images for Vogue magazine feature her in next to nothing, posing nude with some scarves and jewelry as her accessories and sipping champagne.
Stern told the New York Magazine that he agreed to do the recreation because he suspected Lohan “had a lot more depth to her” than one might assume from “those teenage movies.” (ANI)
