Lindsay Lohan Saw Daylight Outside Jail After 13 Days

August 3, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Lindsay Lohan saw the light of the world outside jail when she got released yesterday after serving thirteen days of the three-month long imprisonment that she had been sentenced to for having violated the probation on a drunk-driving charge in 2007. Lohan was punished with solitary confinement and put into a female jail in South Los Angeles on July 20.
A hit with the newspaper headlines, LiLo’s imprisonment in a female jail made the reporters predict that she would become a victim of lesbian gangs behind the bars. But, nothing like that happened. A source revealed that she got released long before the completion of her sentence because of her good conduct and under the early-release programmes to reduce overcrowding in Los Angeles’ budget-strained jail system.
The days of Lohan’s freedom seem to be numbered as she is supposed to serve the sentence for a three-month long period in rehab. She will be undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder and her addiction to amphetamines. Yesterday, Lohan somehow managed to zip past a gaggle of camera crews who were waiting breathlessly outside the jail to click her photographs.
The actress of Mean Girls fame has suffered a setback to her otherwise promising career in recent years largely because of her immoderate, unrestrained Hollywood lifestyle. She developed addiction to drugs and alcohol in 2007 and made a trip to rehab for three times in the same year. Cocaine was also found under her possession when she was arrested in 2007.
Lohan who was kissed by fame at the tender age of 11 for her role in a remake of The Parent Trap was kept in separation from the other inmates in the jail because of her high profile. But some prison officials reported that she was treated no differently from any other inmate. She was fed on the typical non-gourmet prison food and kept in a suffocating 12×8 ft cell.
