Los Angeles, Feb 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The judge who is hearing the grand theft charge against Lindsay Lohan had told the troubled star that if she accepts the DA’s plea bargain and pleads guilty or no contest, he would send her to jail.

Judge Keith L. Schwartz did not mince words when he told the 24-year-old actress that she would be treated like any member of the public during the trial.

Schwartz told Lohan that, “You will be treated exactly the same as anyone else, no better, no worse…This case does involve jail time. Period. If you plead in front of me — if this case resolves in front of me — you are going to jail. Period. I don’t want you under any apprehension. You will be going to jail.”

Lohan is standing trial for allegedly stealing $2,500 jewel from a boutique in Venice last month. The “Mean Girls” star last appeared before the court two weeks ago and pleaded not guilty when the charge was read out to her.

The case has been adjourned to 10th of March. Judges Schwartz handed the evidence from the prosecution to the attorney of the star for them to study it.

Lohan could be sentenced to 3 years in jail if she is found guilty.
