Lily Allen says ‘album success quite justifies paparazzi eye’May 13th, 2009 - 4:50 pm ICT by ANI
Washington, May 13 (ANI): Lily Allen, who at one time was trying to run away from snappers, has now said that being constantly in media’s prying eyes is justified because her second album has received a huge welcome from fans.
The ‘Smile’ hit-maker shot to fame in 2006 with her debut record ‘Alright, Still’, and, soon after, became a regular fixture in the gossip columns for her wild ways.
Allen was a top target for London photographers, who followed her every move in the British capital.
Irritated by the constant hounding, Allen took legal action earlier this year and won a court order to keep the intrusive snappers at bay.
The star admitted that her fame was becoming tiresome.
She, however, believes that she has paid her dues after her second CD ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ topped the U.K. album charts in February and scored a number five hit in America.
“It’s still surreal, it’s a bit weird. Before I released this record, that (fame) was starting to get me down actually,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Sky news.
She added: “But the fact it’s done so well and people are responding has made me feel like it’s a little bit more justified - but not quite.” (ANI)
