Washington, July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Lil Wayne has confirmed plans to come out with his clothing line next year. The singer made the announcement last week and it comes just days after another rapper Kanye West also made similar remarks.

Last week, Wayne spoke to XXL and said his decision was inspired by her stylist. According to the singer, stylist Marisa told him that he was “Funky,” and that made him believe that he can get people to also be that way.

Wayne said that, “I just figure that I… I’m funky. I got that from my stylist, Marisa. I’m funky, like she say. A year from now, I want all these items to be mine. Rebirth, I want – I just figure people want to be funky like me, so I got my clothing line.”

West’s clothing line will however be a collaboration with a fashion designer. According to reports, the singer will team up with 30-year-old British designer Louise Goldin. It is speculated that the new fashion line could be launched later this year during New York’s Fashion Week festival.

The British newspaper The Guardian carried an article which suggested that West has an in-depth knowledge of fashion which will be an advantage for his new business. The report said West will take active part in the running of the business and will not just be the face of the company.
