Manhattan, Feb 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper Lil Wayne’s sentencing has been postponed for the time being. His sentencing was postponed so that he could have his dental surgery prior to serving his jail time. He will now be sentenced on the 2nd of March. At the short duration court session, Lil Wayne didn’t speak a word, even though he had mentioned earlier to the TV interviewer Jimmy Kimmel, that his jewel-encrusted teeth had cost him $150,000.
After the announcement of his sentencing being postponed, he left in a black SUV, accompanied by his fellow rapper Birdman and other people. The defense lawyer Stacey Richman revealed that rapper Lil Wayne was going to Miami for his dental surgery on Friday. She declined to give other details about the impending surgery. “It is a medical situation that, like (it would for) any of us, has to be addressed,” she said outside court.
It may be recalled that Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to a felony charge in October 2009. And for the same crime, he got a yearlong sentence. His prison time was set to begin on 9th February, Tuesday at the Rikers Island in New York, but it has now been postponed.
