Manhattan, Feb 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper Lil Wayne is not going to jail. Well, not right now, at least, thanks to his sore mouth. The sentence that he was supposed to have started on Tuesday, on the charges of a felony gun case in New York City, just got postponed after it was declared that it was necessary for him to have to go through a series of surgeries, all in the mouth, before he could begin to serve his sentence. The rapper has been sentenced to serve a year in prison, although it is being supposed that he might get out in as less as eight months, provided he is on his best behavior.
The judge in Manhattan agreed to the pleas of the rapper that he be given a month’s time before checking into his cell. The Assistant District Attorney Joan Illuzzi-Orbon also agreed that it was critical to the health of the rapper and hence “medically necessary” for the operations to be over as soon as possible. The sentencing of Lil Wayne has been postponed to March 2, and according to Charles Solomon, the Manhattan State Supreme Court Justice, it would not be delayed any more.
According to the reports, Lil Wayne will be flying to Miami in order to undergo the dental surgeries. His lawyer, Stacey Richman, commented that he would be heading off to the destination on Friday, but she did not elucidate about the exact ailment that the rapper is afflicted with. Lil Wayne himself did not comment on the matter during his brief session in the court. However, it is being speculated that the problem might be the braces or a cracked tooth.
