The ongoing stand off between producers and multiplexes has claimed yet another victim. Advait Entertainment Pvt. Ltd’s maiden venture Lets Dance which was to be released in May 2009 has now been pushed ahead to a June end release. While the scheduled release dates of big Bollywood films have gone haywire, small medium budget films too are bearing the brunt and incurring losses because of the strike. Lets Dance introduces Aquib Afzal. He is the brother of Usman Afzal, Amrita Arora’s ex-boyfriend.
Directed by National Award Winning Editor Aarif Sheikh, film Lets Dance produced by Dr Arvind Patel is about youth, their energy, their frustrations, their anger and how these negative energies are channelized positively towards making them into achievers. It’s about how a young girl, gives direction in life to a group of street kids through dance. Young and peppy, she is a dancer who plays catalyst in the story and runs her own dance school. She comes in contact with a bunch of street kids and hence begins a journey that is full of life, drama and fresh sparkle. It carries an underlying sense of social obligation but the story is treated with youthful appeal and feel good factor.
Apart from Aquib, the film introduces Gayatri Patel and Ajai Chowdhary along with celebrity child artistes like Abhaas, Paras, Nikunj. It’s produced by Dr Arvind Patel. With talented and veteran Choreographers like Saroj Khan, Longee, Rajiv Goswami, and Pappu-Malu. Lets Dance makers are promising to showcase dancing in a wholesome manner. -Sampurn Media
