Leonardo DiCaprio wants to play ‘duplicitous’ J Edgar Hoover
July 10th, 2010 - 5:24 pm ICT by ANILondon, July 10 (ANI): Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed that he hopes to play J Edgar Hoover, the first director of the FBI, in a film directed by Clint Eastwood.
“I want to do the Hoover project,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
He expressed his eagerness for the role at the premiere of his latest film, ‘Inception’, in Leicester Square.
“I’m excited about playing such a duplicitous character in American history. I want to stick my teeth into that role,” he said.
‘I still have a lot to prove to myself. I have a lot of characters that I still want to play.
“When you’re a young man and you’ve seen a lot of great cinematic performances in the past, you want to emulate them and you want to be something as close to what they achieved as you possibly can. So I’m dreaming of doing this as long as I can and keep helping myself,” he added. (ANI)
