Leonardo DiCaprio may star in ‘The Great Gasby’

Los Angeles, Oct 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Hollywood director Baz Luhrmann has been finding it difficult to decide for many years to make The Great Gasby by F. Scott Fitzgerald into a movie or not. A few weeks ago, rumors emerged that Hollywood stars Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire and Amanda Seyfried were being touted for roles in the movie.
In a recent interview with Luhrmann, he revealed that even though he’s been trying to develop a script for the movie, nothing has been decided and he doesn’t even know the movie he will be working on next. He also stated that the rumor about the Hollywood stars he is allegedly considering wasn’t even serious.
New developments seem to suggest that there were some truths in those rumors as reports by Deadline has revealed the director’s presence in the Big Apple at the moment to develop the script further with Craig Pearce. Actors who have been contacted by the director include Leonardo Di Caprio to read Gatsby’s part, Tobey Maguire to read Nick Carraway’s part and Rebecca Hall to read Daisy’s part.
The director is however noted for developing his scripts throughout his career in similar fashion and means that none of the actors he’s contacted will be guaranteed to feature in the movie.
