Leonardo Di Caprio says he’s no sci-fi geek

London, July 14 (ANI): Leonardo DiCaprio is starring in his first science fiction thriller, but the actor insists he is no sci-fi geek.
The ‘Titanic’ actor plays the lead character in breathtaking new blockbuster ‘Inception’, a tale about a super-thief who steals secrets from inside people’s dreams.
“Hey, this is my first science-fiction film. I have a hard time with science-fiction,” the Daily Star quoted Leo as saying.
“I have a little bit of an aversion to it, because it’s hard to emotionally invest in worlds that are too detached from what we know.
“But ‘Inception’ is deeply rooted in things we’ve seen before.
“It feels like a world we understand and that we could jump into. And that’s not too much of a leap of faith to make,” he added.
In the film, which has been dubbed a cross between James Bond and ‘The Matrix’, Leo plays Dom Cobb, who was born with an extraordinary gift of being able to enter people’s minds when they’re asleep and extract valuable information.
Critics have been raving about the 135million pound film, while confessing they find it hard to follow.
And Leo, 35, agrees, saying the only reason he got to grips with the plot was because director Christopher Nolan sat down and explained it to him.
“It’s a very well-written, comprehensive script. It’s completely original. But you really had to have to Chris in person to articulate some of the things swirling around his head.
“It’s an extremely ambitious concept Chris tried to pull off. And he accomplished it with flying colours. There are not too many directors who would pitch a high-action, surreal film set in someone’s mind to Hollywood,” said Leo. (ANI)
