Oct 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The legendary actor and Hollywood icon Tony Curtis passed away at his Las Vegas home after suffering a fatal heart attack. The actor was 85 year old. Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy announced the news to the media yesterday. Jill Curtis, the sixth wife of the “Some Like It Hot” actor said that Tony Curtis’s old smoking habits was the major reason for his health problems.

Jill Curtis payed tribute to her husband yesterday by saying that Tony Curtis died peacefully at home and he was surrounded by all his loved ones. The widow of Tony Curtis said that the actor always wanted to be a movie star. Jill Curtis emphasized the fact by saying that he never wanted to be a “dramatic actor” but a “movie star”. She also revealed that Tony Curtis was hospitalized several times over few weeks owing to his pulmonary disease and lung problems. Jill Curtis said that her late husband stopped his smoking habits 30 years ago, however, he could never come out of his lung problems. Tony Curtis’ daughter, Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtis said that her father left behind him the “legacy” of excellent performances in movies and also his beautiful paintings and “assemblages”.

Jamie Lee Curtis also added that her father is survived by his children and his families, his wife and in-laws who loved and respected him. Jill Curtis told a reputed media source that her late husband always used to say that God is great and he would hurt others, as God looks like Tony Curtis. British actor Roger Moore expressed his condolence at the unfortunate demise of the veteran actor by saying that he would be remembered as a very good actor in both drama and comedy.
