The film has been listed in 11 categories, which include best film and best actor and actress, reports the BBC.

Lee has been nominated for best director and Taiwanese filmmaker of the year.

The movie recently won the top Golden Lion prize at the Venice Film Festival.

However, Lee’s erotic drama had been earlier withdrawn as the Taiwan’s official entry for the upcoming Oscars in the Best Foreign-Language Film category.

Academy spokeswoman Teni Melidonian had said that the film was ‘ineligible’ for the Oscars entry because insufficient Taiwanese contributed in the making of the film.

The film is about the sexually charged relationship between an undercover activist and the Japanese-allied intelligence chief in Second World War-era Shanghai. (ANI)
