Ledgers father: Michelle and Matilda Rose will be taken care ofMarch 9th, 2008 - 2:15 pm ICT by admin
Washington, Mar 09 (ANI): Heath Ledger’s father has insisted that the late actors daughter will be taken care of, in spite of being left out of his will.
The will, which was revealed on Saturday March 08, had been filed in Australia in April 2003, before Heaths relationship with Michelle Williams and the birth of their daughter Matilda Rose in 2005.
It was still very uncertain if Michelle and Matilda Rose would be provided anything, as the will revealed that Heath had left everything he owned to his parents and sister.
However his family, in a statement made to New York’s Daily News, said that the two would not be left out.
“Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family,” People quoted Heath’s father Kim Ledger, as telling Daily News.
“They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be,” he added.
A series of documents filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court revealed that the actor had less than 145,000 dollars in New York assets at the time, including a 25,000 dollars Toyota Prius and 20,000 dollars in furniture and fixtures.
A representative for Ledger was quick in putting down any rumours that Williams and 2-year-old Matilda would not be provided for.
“The story is getting taken out of context and media is speculating that this means Matilda and Michelle will not be taken care of. I want to make it very clear nothing could be farther from the truth,” the rep stated. (ANI)
