LeAnn Rimes to do a charity concert for tornado victims

Joplin, June 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Country singer LeAnn Rimes will play a charity concert at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. The concert was a proposal from a friend of the singer who witnessed the recent tornado that killed more than hundred people in Joplin. Since the concert was announced, several personalities have joined in with their support to ensure it becomes a success.

Jacksonville’s Jonathan Jaxson proposed the concert. He told reporters that several news outlets in the United States have taken interest in the concert and given the assurance that they will cover the event.

The hall can take 450 patrons and the tickets are being offered between $65 and $100. The tickets have already gone on sale and they can be purchased at www.concerthall.com.

Jaxson also plans to have an auction as well and give the proceeds to the victims of the tornado. Already, host of celebrities including Mariah Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Clarkson, Tim McGraw and the cast of “Glee” have all promised to contribute one thing or the other for the auction.

Jaxson is grateful to Rimes for accepting to play at the concert. He revealed that the singer was on her honeymoon with husband Eddie Cibrian when he asked her to make herself available for the concert.
