Lea Michele Lends Her Voice To Dorothy In “Wizard Of Oz”

ozJune 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fans of Lea Michele will get to hear their star in a new avatar. The star of “Glee” has agreed to lend her voice to the character of Dorothy in the new animated 3-D film titled “Dorothy of Oz”. The animation film will provide its viewers with a different take on the classic L. Frank Baum’s book “The Wizard of Oz”.

It promises to continue with the adventure of the protagonist Dorothy of “The Wizard of Oz” a little further. The 3-D film is being produced by Summertime Entertainment which is an independent company. The company officials have revealed that the new animation film is based on a childrens’ story written by Roger S. Baum, the grandson of L. Frank Baum.

The revelation of the contract signed by Lea Michele has been made by the producer of “Dorothy of Oz” Bonne Radford who referred to Lea Michele as “our Judy Garland”. The Producer mentioned that Lea Michele would be singing several songs in the animation film along with the voice-over work for Dorothy. Apart from Lea Michele the other stars who have joined the crew of “Dorothy of Oz” are Hugh Dancy, Patrick Stewart.

It seems that the production company is trying its best to give “Dorothy of Oz” a modern look and feel as the producers have announced that they have signed pop-singer Bryan Adams as the music director and the lyricist of the songs for the production. The film according to reports is scheduled to release in spring 2012. As for the story, “Dorothy of Oz” will find the protagonist returning to the world of Oz to find place in a dilapidated condition and her friends gone missing.
