michael jacksons doctor LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — The lawyer for doctor Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s personal physician, on Thursday said he is negotiating with prosecutors to surrender his client.

“We are presently negotiating with the District Attorneys’ office the surrender of Dr. Murray,” lawyer Ed Chernoff said. Chernoff said the specifics have not been agreed on yet.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District’s Attorney Office refused to confirm they are negotiating with Murray on his surrender. The spokeswoman said everyone would be informed at the same time if and when there is an announcement.

U.S. media earlier reported that Murray is expected to be charged with involuntary manslaughter as soon as Friday, which could send him to jail for a maximum of four years if convicted. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney said she could neither confirm nor deny the claims.

Jackson, who was 50, died at his Los Angeles home on June 25. The LA Coroner ruled his death a homicide, mainly caused by the powerful anaesthetic Propofol.
