LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — The defense team for Dr. Conrad Murray, the personal physician of Michael Jackson, will hold a news conference at 1.30 p.m. PST on Friday.
Ed Chernoff, Murray’s lawyer, will make remarks at Del Aire Park before leaving for Los Angeles International Airport for a return flight to Houston.
Del Aire Park is located about 12 blocks away from the courthouse on Isis Avenue, and it remains unclear if Murray will be taken into custody for his involvement in Michael Jackson’s death. Chernoff earlier said that Murray agreed to surrender himself to authorities on Friday.
Jackson, who was 50, died at his Los Angeles home on June 25. The LA Coroner ruled his death a homicide, mainly caused by the powerful anaesthetic Propofol.
U.S. media earlier reported that Murray is expected to be charged with involuntary manslaughter as soon as Friday, which could send him to jail for a maximum of four years if convicted. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney said she could neither confirm nor deny the claims.
