Jan 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Mischa Barton, who is best known for starring in the television series “The O.C” is hitting headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. The 23 year old starlet has landed herself in legal trouble as her landlord has filed a lawsuit against her over unpaid rent.

Reportedly, a complaint has been registered against the actress in the Manhattan Supreme Court by MRA Realties on Thursday which claims that Mischa Barton failed to pay $21,000 which was the rent for the $7,000 per month apartment at the posh TriBeCa area of New York. Joseph Burden, the company’s attorney has revealed that the actress stayed in the Walker Street apartment in the month of September and October but later moved out. However, since then the television star has not paid the rents even after the company attempted to collect the dues on several occasions. In the case that has been filed, the agency demands that Mischa Barton immediately pay three months rent as well as the legal expenses that have been incurred by the company due to the case.

Mischa Burton had shifted to New York last autumn to shoot for the CW’s television series “The Beautiful Life” when she reportedly rented the apartment. However, the show was canceled after airing only two episodes but the actress continued to live in the city. As of now, no comments have been available from Mischa Burton or her representative. Meanwhile, the actress is also making news as reports claim that she misbehaved on the sets of television series “Law & Order: SVU” although the claims have been refuted by the actress.
