New York, Oct 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Lauren Graham is all set to join the cast of NBC’s upcoming series Parenthood. The network confirms that the former Gilmore Girls star, 42, will be replacing Maura Tierney, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and who unfortunately won’t be part of the show anymore.

In July, the former ER star, Maura Tierney, had revealed that she found a tumor in her breast that required surgery. At the time, she wasn’t aware of her exact condition and the course of treatment either, but in September, her spokesperson said in a statement that it conflicted with the series’ filming schedule.

The show ‘Parenthood’ was originally slotted for a fall premiere, but is now set to debut in early 2010. NBC said Monday that production begins in mid-November. It also stars Craig T. Nelson, Bonnie Bedelia and Mae Whitman. The TV series is based on the 1989 comedy movie that starred Steve Martin.
