Los Angeles, Nov 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US National Anthem is turning out to be a waterloo for singers in the United States. After Christina Aguilera famously flubbed the lyrics during the Super Bowl earlier in the year, Lauren Alaina became the next singer to have an issue during a recent rendition of the most famous song in the United States.

To be fair to the American Idol alum she didn’t particularly fumble the lyrics but paused momentarily during the performance which opened the Thanksgiving Game between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. The 17-year-old showed courage when she recovered from what appeared to be a momentarily lapse to complete the anthem without any further issues.

So how is it that so many people are getting the US Anthem wrong? Some writers believe that it has to do with the nerves it takes to stand in front of such massive crowds. However considering that Aguilera is an established singer who is used to performing in front of massive crowds, the first explanation doesn’t seem to be all there is to it.

Another school of thought is that because most of the singers are used to singing the anthem on numerous occasions as they grew up and at other places, they don’t think it is important to practice with the lyrics in front of them and that proves to be their bane.
