Laura Linney’s ‘The Big C’ To Premiere On Showtime

Jan 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the fans of Laura Linney are in for a treat as the Emmy award-winning actress would soon be seen in a new Showtime series ‘The Big C’. The network is all set to showcase 13 episodes of the cancer drama ‘The Big C’, which would witness the much acclaimed actress edging the role of a cancer patient.
In the new series, the 45 year old actress would play the character of a woman who is diagnosed with the deadly disease which completely changes the course of her life. The series which was initially titled “The C-Word” would also star Oliver Platt in one of the leading roles.
Robert Greenblatt, the entertainment president of the network has implied that the new show captures the life and journey of the cancer patient and at the same time has elements of drama as well as comedy. Robert Greenblatt also adds that the complex character could be successfully edged by Laura Linney and emphasizes that the network is thrilled to have the reputed actress as a part of the outstanding series.
Apart from playing the central character, the new series would also be executive produced by Laura Linney along with Neal Moritz and Vivian Cannon. The new series has been created by Darlene Hunt and is scheduled to be premiered during fall. Anticipation regarding the upcoming show is running immensely high as apart from the talented group of actors, the pilot episode has been directed by much acclaimed director Bill Condon.
Meanwhile, Laura Linney is also hitting headlines as the actress is also part of the Broadway production of ‘Time Stands Still’, which is scheduled to open this month.
